Love Notions - Summer Caye

J'ai join l'équipe de promotion de Love Notions.  Cette équipe inclus plusieurs testeurs qui recevront une compensation pour participer au processus d'essai et les activités de promotions.

I recently joined the Love Notions Promo Testers group.  This group is a dedicated team of testers who will receive compensation for participating in each testing and promotion activity.

Dans le passé, j'ai eu la chance de participer dans quelques tests de Love Notions (Blissfull jacket, Samson sweater and Willow Wrap Top).  Love Notions offre une belle collection de patrons pour femmes, filles et garçons. Je dois dire que mon patron préféré est le Moto Max Set pour les garçons.

In the past, I had the chance to test a few patterns for Love Notions (Blissfull jacket, Samson sweater and Willow Wrap Top).  Love Notions has grown so wonderfully in the last two years and is offering great patterns for girls, boys and ladies.  I have to say my all time favorite Love Notions pattern is the Moto Max Set for the boys.

Dernièrement, j'ai participé au test d'essai du patron de pantalon  

pour femmes et filles Summer Caye. Ce patron n'aurait pas été mon premier choix, mais qu'elle surprise !  C'est ce que j'aime des périodes de test, on essai des choses qu'on oserait jamais.

Recently, I participated in the testing of the Ladies and Girls Summer Caye pants patterns. The pattern is definitely outside my regular wardrobe choice, which is always the most interesting part of testing a new pattern.

J`ai imprimé et coupé plusieurs versions de ce patron, Tamy le designer derrière Love Notions voulait vraiment atteindre la perfection !  À la fin de la période de test, j'avais fais 3 paires de bermuda pour ma princesse et deux paires pour moi.  Ce fût une semaine bien occupée.

I printed and cut many versions of this pattern.  Tamy the designer behind Love Notions really wanted to reach the perfect fit.   By the end of the testing, I had made three pairs of short for my princess and two pairs for myself.  It was a very busy sewing week for me!

   

Un peu d'information au sujet du patron. Les caratéristiques du patron inclus une ceinture avec élastique au dos et plusieurs options de longueur (bermuda, capris et pantalon)

Il offre également différentes options de finition de la jambe; droite, avec ourlet, ourlet fendu, et tulipe. La version femme offre également un style palazzo et jambe large.

Back to the pattern, I will start with the features of the pattern and instructions. 

The Summer Caye features a flat-front waistband, elasticized back, and several lengths (2 shorts lengths, capris, and pants).  It also has cuffed, straight, split hem, and tulip hem options. The ladies version has also a palazzo and wide leg options.

Un patron pour pantalon est toujours difficile à ajuster, on doit penser à l'entrejambe, les hanches et la taille.  Les caractéristiques du patron vous permettent d'ajuster le patron pour répondre à vos besoins individuels.  De plus, le tutorial a été optimisé pour la plupart des tablettes avec des liens tout au long des instructions. J`adore cette fonction, mon Ipad est maintenant mon meilleur ami dans ma salle de couture !

Pants patterns are always tricky to work with, you have to think about the crotch raise, the hip line and the waist line. The feature of the pattern allow you to perfect the pattern to meet your individual need.  Another great feature of this pattern is that the tutorial has been optimized for most tablets with click or touchable links to each part of the pattern instruction. I started to be a big fan of those features, my iPad is my new best friend in my sewing room!

La photo à gauche représente la version bermuda avec un tissu jeans  avec passepoil sur les poches.  Le passpoil est un ajout de ma part et n'est pas inclus dans les instructions.  La camisole est un autre patron disponible sur le site de Love Notions - Hip-hop Tank. Le tissu provient de la dernière collection de The Fabric Geeks.  Cette camisole sera dans nos valises pour notre prochain voyage à Disney!

The picture on the left is showing the short version (6") in a light weight jeans with piping on the pockets. The piping is an addition from and it is not included in the instructions.  It also feature another pattern from Love Notions - the hip-hop tank.  The fabric is from The Fabric Geeks latest collection! Which will be perfect for our upcoming trip to Disney.

 

 La deuxième paire, le capri est fait de tencel, c'est la première fois que je travaillais avec du tencel.  Cest un tissu très léger, sans propriété d'étirement similaire à la soie.  C'est un tissu écologique que je vais utiliser à nouveau. 

This second pair, capris length, is made from tencel, this was my first time working with tencel it is very light weight fabric with no stretch similar to silk.  It is a Eco-friendly fabric that I will use again in the future. I got this fabric from the clearance bin in my local Fabricland.  

À gauche c'est ma version femme.  Cette version est fait avec un tricot Ponte sport que j'ai acheté chez C&M textile.

Now my ladies version, the short is made from a thick ponte for athletic clothing which I bought from C&M textile.

J'ai aussi fait une version capris avec le tencel.  Je vais probablement faire l'essai de la version Palazzo, j'ai déjà mon tissu mais j'ai manqué de temps cette semaine.

I made a second version capris length with the same tencel I used with the girls version. I`m looking forward to try the palazzo version, I got my fabric but ran out of time this week.

Je vous recommande de vérifier la taille de la ceinture avant de terminer votre projet.  Vérifiez que l'élastique est de la bonne longueur, j'ai du refaire la ceinture d'une des versions et c'est vraiment pas intéressant.

Overall, I would recommend you adjust the waistband before completing the project. Ensure the elastic is the right length, taking the waistband is not fun at all, trust me.   

Je vous recommande vivement de faire une ébauche du bermuda pour parfaire l'ajustement avant de couper dans votre bon tissu. Assurez-vous d'utiliser un tissu de même poids pour obtenir le même résultat. Et le plus important amusez-vous avec les couleurs et les styles offert par ce patron. 

I highly recommend making a short muslin to perfect the fit before cutting in your good fabric. Try a similar type and weight fabric to achieve the same result. And finally have fun with all the styles and options available with this pattern.
