Creativity and mindfulness

Mindfulness is experiencing the present moment, without labels or judgement.
When we schedule creativity activities regularly into our life, we are being immersed in the present moment. A good example of this is when you are losing your sense of time focusing on your sewing project. That's me!
We can immerse ourselves in the experience and letting go of external concerns. Our thoughts, senses and feelings are all focused on the task and we find balance between being challenged and enjoying what we are doing.
Creating something with your hands provides a sense of accomplishment that can boost mental health. Sewing is also a great sensory experience (feeling the fabric, sound of the sewing machine and looking at your work).
