The Fabric Geeks - Nautical Dream pre-order

I’m lucky enough to continue my adventure with The Fabric Geeks. I’m so happy to sew up projects just for fun. I only need to pick a pattern I love.

This time, I had the chance to try out the new solid collection the yarn dyed stripes and the new pre-order ‘’Nautical Dream’’.

First up, is the yarn dyed stripes pink and charcoal grey. This Cotton/Lycra fabric is not as heavy than the regular solid collection (190gsm vs 230gsm) but still a very good quality and so perfect for this top.

I selected the Sew Straight and Gather - Girls Legends top to feature this fabric. I tested this pattern over a year ago (see here) and it was time to make another one. I’m intensely jealous and dying to make my own!

My princess is so stylish in this stand collar top. It only took me a couple hours to complete this top from printing to finish. I highly recommend this pattern.

Secondly, the ‘’Nautical Dream’’ pre-order.   I really like the colors of this collection, specially the stripes (not feature in this post)! My latest outfit with The Fabric Geeks received a lot of love from my princess, so I decided to use the same pattern for this top.  I used the Agility Tank* with the overlay from 5 out of 4 patterns. 

I completed the outfit with the Greenstyle Creations Stride Athletic Tight.

J'ai la chance de continuer mon aventure avec The Fabric Geeks.  J'adore coudre des projects pour m'amuser.  J'ai seulement besoin de choisir un patron que j'aime.

Cette fois-ci, j'ai fait l'essai de la nouvelle collection de "yard dyed stripes" et ''Anchor'' présentement en prévente.

Tout d'abord, le tissu rayé rose et gris est un cotton/lycra.  Il pèse un peu moins que la collection de couleur uni (190gsm vs 230gsm).  C'est quand même de très bonne qualité et parfait pour un chandail d'été.

J'ai choisi un patron de Sew Straight and Gather - Girls Legends pour ce tissu. J'ai testé ce patron il y a déjà plus d'un an (voir ici) et nous l'adorons toujours.  A vrai dire, je suis complètement jalouse et j'en veux un pour moi aussi!

J'adore le style de col.  J'ai complété le projet en quelques heures.  Je recommande fortement ce patron.

Pour poursuivre, la collection en prévente ‘’Nautical Dream’’.   J'adore les couleurs de cette collection, cela fait tellement été.  

J'ai utilisé l'Agility Tank* de 5 out of 4 pattern pour ce chandail.  Une autre belle réussite. J'ai complété l'ensemble avec Greenstyle Creations Stride Athletic Tight.

Sew Straight and Gather - Legends

Aujourd'hui, j'aimerais vous présenté une désigner canadienne Sew Straight and Gather.

I would like today to introduce you to a Canadian designer Sew Straight and Gather. 

Il y a déjà quelques mois que nous avons eu la chance de tester ce chandail Legends pour fille.  J'ai fais deux versions du chandail, suivant une erreur de ma part.  J'ai découper la mauvaise version pour le test.  Pas de plaintes du côté de ma princesse, elle adore les chandails !

Back in February, I had the chance to test the Legends top for girl which was a big hit with my daughter.  We made two versions during the testing period, mainly because I messed up.  I made the wrong version that I was supposed to make for the testing.  But no regrets here, the princess is quite happy with both tops! 

Cette première version est fait en tricot bamboo de C&M Textile et la deuxième version est fait avec le même tricot bamboo et un tricot de L'Oiseau Fabrics.  Ce chandail est complètement doublé, ce qui donne une belle finition.

This version was made with only bamboo knit from C&M textile and the second version was made with the same bamboo knit and knit from L’Oiseau Fabrics.  The tank is fully lined which give the clean finish I am such of big fan of. 

Le patron inclus deux options de chandail et robe. Il y a aussi une option sans manche, manches courtes et longues. Ce patron est de niveau intermediaire, la partie la plus difficile est probablement le col.  Mais si vous allez lentement et faites une bonne lecture des intructions avant de débuter, vous allez bien vous en sortir.  Il a aussi un video disponible.

The pattern offers many options including two top and dress options but also sleeveless, short and long sleeve options .  The legend top is a little tricky to make (intermediate sewing pattern) but when you go slowly and you read the instructions before you start,  you will end up with great results.  Following the testing the designer provided tutorial videos that you can find at the following link.

J'ai acheté la version pour femme et avec l'arrivée officielle du printemps, j'espere faire ma propre version de l'option sans manche bientôt !

I bought the women version and cannot wait to make my own tank version of this pattern. 

Dernièrement, j'ai eu la chance de tester un autre patron de la collection de Sew Straight and Gather. Mais ceci fera parti d'une autre publication !
