Rebecca Page - Autumn Blog Tour

Good day everyone and welcome to the first Rebecca Page blog tour "Turning the page sewing for the changing season".

Over the years, the Rebecca Page collection evolved from the original brand name “Mummykins and Me by Rebecca Page” and kids patterns to a wide range of patterns for babies, kids (girls & boys), ladies and crafts patterns.  So far, I featured on the blog a few projects made from her pattern collection (including the Owl Costume & Bird costume).  I have probably completed 15 projects with Rebecca Page patterns.

I’m currently signed up for a wardrobe planning workshop . My goal is to have a cohesive, wearable and practical wardrobe. This changing season blog tour was timely for me,  I combined both activities to create an outfit that I can actually wear for this fall season. 

My first Fall project included the Peggy pencil Skirt* and Olivia peasant top*. Two new pieces in my wardrobe.   

This classic skinny black skirt was made out an heavy knit - scuba. I selected the traditional style for this pull-up.  Definitely a quick sew!

For the Olivia, please note the fabric choice will impact the finished look of the garment.  My  fabric has drape which hangs in folds and swings when I move, limiting the oversized appearance. In addition, for this version of the Olivia I went down one size to reach the look I was looking for.

I can combine those two pieces with other pieces I created in the past or I already bought.

Here is my Olivia peasant top, Peggy Skirt with the Cora Cocoon cardigan*, which is perfect for casual Fridays! 

I cannot wait to wear this Cora Cocoon, it's so warm & cozy!

I love the Olivia top with a skinny jeans for a night out with the girls.

Keep in mind that the ladies sizes are drafted for a C cup bust and a height of 5 foot 6 inches.

Rebecca Page collection is full of Fall/Winter options, including the woman version of The Riley vest which is on my to do list!

Rebecca Page - Changement de saison

Bienvenue à la première tournée des blogues de Rebecca Page !

Au fil des ans, la collection de Rebecca Page a évolué.  La marque originale "Mummykins and me by Rebecca page" offrait seulement des patrons pour les enfants, maintenant elle offre un large éventail de patrons pour les bébés, les enfants (filles & garçons), les femmes et autres projets.   Jusqu'à présent, j'ai présenté sur le blog quelques projets réalisés à partir de sa collection de patrons (plus particulièrement le costume de hibou et d'oiseau).  J'ai probablement réalisé jusqu’à présent une quinzaine de projets avec Rebecca page Patterns.

 Je suis inscrite à un atelier web de planification de garde-robe. Mon but ultime est d'avoir une garde-robe cohérente, portable et pratique. Cette tournée des blogues est opportun pour moi, j'ai combiné les deux activités pour créer une tenue que je peux réellement porter pour cette saison d'automne.

Mon premier projet d'automne consiste d’une jupe Peggy * et d’un haut Olivia*. Deux nouvelles pièces dans ma garde-robe.

C'est ma deuxième version de la jupe.  Ma première version était fait de jegging et cette version est en scuba. Les deux versions sont très confortable et très facile à faire.

Pour le haut Olivia, veuillez noter que le choix du tissu aura un impact sur l'aspect final du vêtement.  Ma version est un tissu très mince qui donne une allure un peu drapé qui bouge facilement, limitant ainsi l'aspect surdimensionné d’un autre tissu comme un coton.   

Je peux combiner ces deux pièces avec d'autres pièces de ma garde-robe, voici ma jupe Peggy, le haut Olivia avec le Cardigan Cocoon*, qui  fait un ensemble parfait pour les vendredis ! 

Le haut Olivia est versatile et peut être porté avec un jeans pour une soirée avec les filles.

Gardez à l'esprit que les tailles dames sont dessiné pour un buste de grandeur C et une taille de 5 pieds 6 pouces.

Rebecca page collection est pleine d'options pour l'automne/hiver, y compris la veste Riley qui est sur ma liste de projets !

Love Notions - Summer Lace Tour



Hello, I'm back at blogging with the Lace Love Notions Summer Blog Tour. When Kelly put forward the idea for Lace projects, I wanted in.  I have so many projects I wanted to try: Cartwheel top with lace back for my daughter, Sloane with lace accent, "Sexy" Luna Loungewear or Lotus Blossom blouse!   There is no limit to your imagination, I settled on a lace top with flutter sleeves.

 

My inspiration came from Banana Republic after some windows shopping.  Joking here, I don't have time for windows shopping anymore, I'm more a Pinterest and internet browsing kind of shopper. 😉  

 

Below is my inspiration for this project, which I reproduced using the Forte view C - classic tee with scoop neck and bell sleeves.

 

 

 

What do you think?  I created a great alternative to a plain black blouse-very Stylish!  This was my first time trying the Forte and I think it is a very flattering shirt.  I did not realize how many options to mix and match were available with this pattern (four top views, two dress views and six sleeve options). Definitely something to try again.

I really like the inspiration top. To reach the same style I made a few changes.  I cut one size bigger, the main reason was that I wanted a relaxed fit with a little bit more room thorough the chest.  I cut my sleeve a little shorter, three-quarter length sleeves, I was looking for a summery style.

 



The inspiration came with an interior cami for extra coverage.  No problem, Love Notions has the perfect pattern for that - Luna Loungewear. I had some left over yoga fabric from another project that I used for the cami making it super comfortable.

The last modification I made was how I finished the neckline.  I used the same technic than the Luna pattern.  I encased the edge in the neckline band to reach a clean finish without exposed seams.

 

This beautiful fabric came from L'Oiseau fabric and was perfect for this project. It has the perfect stretch.  My last step for this project is to take this flattering shirt to a night out!

The Fabric Geeks - The Mix #1 (part 2)

So it turned out to be a busy January, this is part 2 of The Mix #1.  

I have three more prints to show you from the current preorder from The Fabric Geek.

I am a huge fan of the following pattern, the Rowan Tee from Titchy Threads.  I used the ''Math Nerd'' as the main fabric for this Tee and the ''Monochrome Doodle'' for the shoulder accents.

Ma machine à coudre à été très occupé en janvier. Voici la deuxième partie de la collection ''The Mix #1'' de la précommande de The Fabric Geeks.

J'ai commencé avec un de mes patrons préférés, le Rowan Tee de Titchy Threads avec le tissu ''Math Nerd'' avec le ''Monochrome Doodle'' sur les manches.

This little guy has been growing so he got lucky, I got good results with the Explorer Raglan from MBJM, so I decided to try another pattern from her collection. So I tried the Cottesloe Cowl. I used the same size than the Explorer Raglan but it turned a little big on my model. I love the colors of the ''Extinction'' fabric and the little round pockets.

Mon grand garçon grandit rapidement alors il a eu droit à un autre chandail.  J'ai obtenu un bon résultat avec le premier patron que j'ai essayé de MBJM  alors j'en ai essayé un autre. Cette fois-ci j'ai fait l'essai du Cottesloe cowl. Le chandail est un peu grand pour lui, pourtant j'ai utilisé la même grandeur que l'explorer raglan.  C'est quand même une belle réussite, j'adore les couleurs du tissu et les petites poches rondes.

The last print I had the chance to try-out is the ''Sweet things''.  I thought it would be fun to use that print on some gym clothing. So I used the Agility Tank from 5 out of 4 patterns* and the girls stride from Greenstyle Creations*.

Pour le dernier tissu, je me suis amusé avec le thème.  Des sucreries pour une ensemble de gym.  J'ai utilisé le patron Agility Tank de 5 out of 4 patterns* et girls stride de Greenstyle Creations*. 

In addition to the strike off from The Fabric Geeks, I tested the revised version of the Love Notions* Trendy Tunic.  I used the ''Sweet things'' for the details of the tunic.

En terminant, j'ai testé la version révisée du patron Trendy Tunic de Love Notions*. Le ''Sweet things'' était parfait pour ce projet.

The Fabric Geeks - The Mix #1 (part 1)

I am so excited to share with you some of my creations from the month of January.   The Fabric Geeks send me a bunch of new strike off of the new preorder "The Mix #1". This one has no specific theme but full of print for everyone.

In case your are new to The Fabric Geeks, their fabrics are digitally printed cotton lycra fabric with a weight ranging from 250-270 gsm.

First up is one of my favourite, the "Namaste".  This one is a fun print for all the yoga lovers. 

Je suis très contente de vous présenter mes projets du mois de janvier.  J'ai testé quelques tissus de la nouvelle précommande. Cette dernière, ''The Mix #1'' inclus un peu de tout pour tous.  

Je débute avec mon tissu préféré de la collection, le ''Namaste''. Ce tissu est parfait pour tous ceux qui aime le Yoga.

For this print, I used the Agility tank* from 5 out of 4 patterns. This was not my first time using this pattern and it is becoming a fun summer staple in our house.   I really like the overlay style of this tank.  I used fold over elastic for the binding.

J'ai choisi un patron que j'ai découvert l'été dernier. L'Agility tank* de 5 out of 4 patterns était parfait pour ce tissu.



For the second print, I tried a new designer Made By Jack's Mum (MBJM). 

En deuxième temps, j'ai choisi de faire l'essai d'un nouveau patron de la collection Made By Jack's Mum.

 



I selected the Explorer Raglan T-Shirt to feature the graffiti & monochrome doodles print from the current preoder.  The graffiti is a fun print and great discussion with the younger generation. Mom, what is a Boombox?  What are the cassettes for?

C'était la première fois que je travaillais avec l'Explorer Raglan. Je crois que c'était un bon choix pour mettre en valeur le  ''Graffiti'' & ''Monochrome''. Le Graffiti est un retour en arrière avec les cassettes et la radio.  Maman, c'est quoi une cassette?

This pattern comes with multiple options: 

• 4 sleeve lengths (long, three quarter, short and retro rolled);
• straight hem and low backed curved hem;
• colour blocking; and
• snap close neckline (perfect for the smaller sizes).

Le patron inclus plusieurs options:

• 4 grandeurs de manche;
• ourlet droit ou courbé à l'arrière; 
• blockage de couleur; et
• fermeture à l'encolure (parfait pour les plus jeunes).

Jennuine Design - Skiff tee

 

Hello,

Last week, I had the chance to test the latest pattern from Jennuine Design. The Skiff Tee pattern is a simple slim-fitting tee with a bateau neckline. 

 

The Skiff Tee is available in children’s sizes newborn to 12 years. The pattern includes a few options straight hem, vented hem with a slightly longer back and secret chest pocket!  

 

I’m sure it would become a staple with the color blocking details on the bodice and sleeve.  The skiff is meant for girls and boys, Jenn is working on an expansion pack to take the Skiff Tee into a Skiff dress.  I cannot wait to try it!

Un beau bonjour,

 

La semaine dernière, j'ai eu la chance de tester le dernier patron de Jennuine Design.  Le tee-shirt* skiff est un chandail simple avec un encolure en bateau.

 

Le tee-shirt skiff est disponible en tailles nouveau-nés jusqu'à 12 ans.  Le patron comprend quelques options ourlet droit, ourlet ventilé avec un dos légèrement plus long et poche secrète au niveau de la poitrine.

 

Je suis sûr qu'il deviendra un patron de base avec les détails.  Moi j'adore le detail au niveau du dos.

 

  

Le skiff est destiné aux filles et aux garçons, Jenn travaille sur un patron d'extension pour prendre le tee Skiff et en faire un version complèment fille, pensez robe.
